Is it adaptive clothing?

Yes, but we prefer to position our garments as comfortable and stylish wear that is quick and easy to put on and take off. We believe the distinction between adaptive and non-adaptive disappears when clothing is designed well enough for everyone to want it. The function of being easy to put on and take off is not limited to a specific group; it is a benefit that everyone can enjoy. It can also be a new trend.

What is magnetic closure and how does it work?

Each closure uses a precisely engineered magnet set flush into a traditional button placket. When the two sides of the shirt front come together, the magnets align and close - no buttons to thread, no fine motor precision required. From the outside, they read exactly like regular buttons. The function is in the construction, not on the surface.

How secure are the magnetic closures?

We calibrate the pull-force on every closure to hold firmly through a full day of normal movement - sitting, leaning, reaching - while still being easy to release with limited grip or a single hand. That balance took a lot of testing to get right. If you experience a closure that doesn't hold the way it should, reach out to us.

What is the magnetic zipper and how does it work?

The zipper itself is a standard coil zip. The difference is at the base, where magnets are integrated into the insertion pin and retaining box. As the two sides come together, the magnets guide them into alignment automatically, allowing the zipper to engage without precise positioning. Once connected, it zips exactly like a standard zipper.

Which part of zipping does this actually help with?

The start. Most zipper difficulty comes from aligning and inserting the pin into the box at the base of the zipper. The magnetic system guides those two parts into position automatically, removing the need for precise alignment. Once engaged, the zipper operates normally.

Will the magnets lose their strength over time?

No. The magnets we use are permanent and don't degrade with regular wear or washing. Provided you follow the care instructions - especially fastening the closures before washing - they'll hold their strength for the life of the garment.

Will the magnets attract keys, belt buckles, or other metal objects?

Under normal wear, interference is minimal. The magnetic field is designed for alignment, not general attraction. We recommend avoiding prolonged contact with magnetic stripe cards, older hard drives, or strong magnets. Everyday items such as keys and chip cards are unaffected.

Can I wear AbleCove with a pacemaker?

Please consult your physician before purchasing. AbleCove garments use magnetic fasteners, which can interfere with pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, insulin pumps, and certain other medical devices. Your safety comes first - we'd rather you check than regret it.

Can anyone wear AbleCove?

Yes. Our clothes are made for anyone who wants to dress well and get dressed efficiently. People with Parkinson's, arthritis, or limited use of one hand find them genuinely useful. So do people who simply want well-made clothing that closes in four seconds. The same garment works for everyone.

What is AbleCove clothing made from?

We carefully select different fabrics for different styles for the way they wear over time - how they drape on the body, how they move through the day, and how they continue to feel familiar after years of use. Sizing & Fit

How do I find the right size?

Each product page includes a detailed size chart with detailed measurements. We recommend measuring a well-fitting garment you already own and comparing it against our chart, rather than relying on the size label alone - sizing varies between brands.

I'm between sizes. What should I do?

It depends on the garment and how you like to wear it. If the fit description says "tailored," we'd lean toward sizing up for ease of movement. If it says "relaxed," your usual size is likely fine. Still unsure? Email us at service@ablecove.com with your measurements, and we'll point you in the right direction.

Does the adaptive design change the fit?

The magnetic closure construction is built into the placket and doesn't affect the overall fit of the garment. Our clothing is cut and proportioned the same way a well-made standard shirt would be. If you have specific fit requirements - such as needing more ease in the shoulder or sleeve - let us know, and we'll advise accordingly.

How do I place an order?

Browse our products, add your selections to your cart, and proceed to checkout. You can check out as a guest or create an account to save your details for future orders.

How do I know my order went through?

Once your order is confirmed, you'll receive a confirmation email at the address you provided at checkout. If it doesn't appear within a few minutes, check your spam folder. If it's not there either, contact us at service@ablecove.com before placing the order again.

Can I modify or cancel my order?

Get in touch as soon as possible at service@ablecove.com. Once an order enters fulfilment, we're unable to make changes - but if you catch it early, we'll do what we can. See our Modification & Cancellation page for full details.

How do I check my order status?

If you have an account, log in and navigate to My Orders. If you checked out as a guest, your shipping confirmation email will include tracking information once your order has been dispatched.

Payment

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. We don't handle or store your card details. All payment information is processed directly by our payment provider under secure encryption, in line with banking industry standards.

How do I apply a promo code?

Enter your code in the promo code field at checkout. Codes are case-sensitive, so enter them exactly as provided. The discount will be applied and visible before you confirm payment.

I forgot to use my promo code. Can I add it after ordering?

Unfortunately, promo codes can only be applied during checkout and can't be added after an order is placed. Keep it handy for your next order.

Why was my payment declined?

The most common reason is a mismatch between the billing address you entered and the one registered with your card. If that's not the issue, your card issuer will have the most accurate information. You're also welcome to contact us at service@ablecove.com, and we'll help where we can.

Shipping & Delivery

How much does shipping cost?

Standard shipping is $12 USD. Orders over $99 ship free. Full details are on our Shipping & Delivery page.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Allow 3–7 business days for processing and 7–15 business days for standard shipping - approximately 10–22 business days in total. Shipping times don't include weekends or public holidays.

How do I track my order?

When your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number by email. Tracking information usually updates within 48–72 hours of dispatch. If nothing is showing after three days, contact us, and we'll look into it.

Can I change my delivery address after ordering?

Once an order is placed, address changes aren't guaranteed - but if you contact us before it ships, we'll try. Reach us immediately at service@ablecove.com with your order number.

My order arrived damaged. What do I do?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at service@ablecove.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage. We'll sort it out from there.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery for items in new, unworn, unaltered condition with original packaging. Full details are on our Returns & Exchanges page.

How do I start a return or exchange?

Email service@ablecove.com with your order number and the item you'd like to return or exchange. We'll confirm eligibility and provide the return address.

I received the wrong item. What should I do?

Email us at service@ablecove.com with your order number and a photo of what you received. We'll make it right.

I'm missing an item from my order.

Orders occasionally ship in separate parcels - check your email for a second dispatch notification. If you've checked and an item is still unaccounted for, contact us at service@ablecove.com, and we'll investigate.

Care & Maintenance

How should I wash AbleCove magnetic closure garments?

Fasten all magnetic closures before washing, turn the garment inside out, and place it in a mesh laundry bag. Hand wash in cold water (under 30°C / 86°F) with a mild detergent - this is our recommended method. If machine washing, use a gentle or wool cycle at the same temperature. Will washing affect the magnetic closures?

Not if the care instructions are followed. Fastening the closures before washing is important - it protects the placket and keeps the magnets properly aligned during the wash cycle.
