Design intent
Most shirts ask you to look at the shirt. The Meridian asks you to look at the color. It is built around a single premise: that a blue - not quite indigo, not quite chambray, somewhere in the register of a harbour on a flat-light morning - does not need embellishment. The AbleCove magnetic closure system removes the tedium of putting it on: the buttons. What remains is the color, the collar, and the cut.
Design inspiration
The workwear shirt - midweight fabric, relaxed fit, single chest pocket, spread collar - has been a constant across American and European everyday dress since the mid-twentieth century. What they shared was an understanding that a shirt made from honest material in a considered color needs no further argument. The Meridian Shirt takes that premise and pushes the color itself harder than either of those references. "Meridian" is the line between hemispheres - the shirt that sits at the midpoint between smart and casual without committing to either.
Craft details
Fit is a relaxed and easy cut with a natural shoulder seam, extra ease through the chest, and a curved shirttail hem. Back carries a single yoke seam and no pleats, keeping the panel clean. The magnetic closure system is placed in the fabric interlayer; all are woven casings heat-welded to the panel before assembly and rated for 200+ machine-wash cycles. Buttons match the Harbor Blue in a charcoal-slate face, blending into the fabric rather than standing against it.
