Design intent

A waistcoat's front row of buttons is its oldest signature. The Sandstone keeps that signature intact and moves the actual mechanism somewhere else entirely, removing cumbersome steps of fastening - the hidden magnets set in the interlining behind the button row do the real work, while the buttons stay exactly where three centuries of waistcoat design have put them.

Design inspiration

The stand collar and close, lapel-free cut draw on the field waistcoat tradition of the Alpine and Central European countryside. Camel has been a neutral of record in menswear since the earliest wool overcoats of the 1920s. Faux suede brings that same restraint into a modern, animal-free material.

Craft details

The shell is a brushed microfibre faux suede with a fine nap. The stand collar sits close; one diagonal chest welt pocket, two lower hip welts, all edged in contrast dark trim. The front carries ten buttons for a traditional button row - the hidden magnet units are heat-set into a double-layer reinforced interlining behind them, spaced for full surface engagement - no hardware visible on either face; all units rated through 200+ wash and wear cycles.
